Outsourced service to run bus retrofit accreditation scheme.
The Department for Transport requires an outsourced service to operate the Clean Vehicle Retrofit Accreditation Scheme (CVRAS), which accredits retrofit technologies to reduce NOX emissions from older diesel buses to near Euro VI levels. The service includes monitoring fleet performance, improving compliance via telematics, engaging bus operators and local authorities on maintenance, and supporting Clean Air Zone charging accuracy. The scheme has been government-funded since 2017. Bidders must demonstrate capability in accreditation scheme management, telematics, and stakeholder engagement.
