QLDC water ops contract on hold pending WSCCO establishment.
The Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC) has issued a Notice of Intent for the 3 Waters Operations & Maintenance Contract 2027, covering water treatment, supply, and sewer utilities. The tender process is currently on hold as the Council reconsiders its procurement approach in light of the proposed Water Services Council-Controlled Organisation (WSCCO). Further formal advice is expected in late August or early September 2026. The contract is for the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure in the Queenstown-Lakes district.
