The National Audit Office (NAO) has modified existing contracts for Financial Audit and Assurance Services, originally awarded under procurement reference GEN_20_22. The modification increases the total contract value by £9.6 million and extends the contract period to ensure continuity of statutory audit delivery for the Home Office and Ministry of Defence audits. The change was made without a new competition due to the significant inconvenience, duplication of costs, and disruption that would result from changing contractors at this stage. The nature, scope, and objectives of the contracts remain unchanged, and the increase is below 50% of the original contract value.
