NAO modifies audit contracts, adding £9.6M and extending term.
Some language patterns suggest this RFP may be written for a specific incumbent vendor. Review qualification requirements and brand-specific terms carefully before committing bid resources.
The National Audit Office (NAO) has modified existing Financial Audit and Assurance Services contracts (procurement reference GEN_20_22) to increase the total contract value by £9.6 million and extend the arrangements. The modification ensures continuity of audit and assurance services for bodies supporting Defra's environmental agenda, including those with significant estimates for PPE and land and buildings. Changing contractors would cause significant inconvenience, duplication of costs, and disruption to audit planning and quality assurance. The increase remains below 50% of the original contract value, and the nature, scope, and objectives of the contracts remain unchanged.
