The Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas) is chartering a vessel for the Solent Bass Survey, a long-running monitoring program collecting abundance and growth data on juvenile European sea bass in the Solent. The vessel must be located in the Portsmouth area, accommodate 5 individuals (2 crew, 3 scientists), and be able to deploy a specific bass trawl net with a 9m headline and 12m footrope. Crew must have experience with the trawl and fishing in the survey area, and the vessel must operate in shallow water (10-30 feet). The contract includes safety inspections and VSAID compliance. Duration is implied as recurring survey trips.
