Natural England seeks a contractor to assess chemical exposure and effects on aquatic wildlife in protected sites using passive quantitative sampling methodology. The work involves chemical analysis selective to relevant substances, evaluating exposure above regulatory acceptable concentrations (RAC), and assessing additive or synergistic effects of chemical mixtures. The evidence will inform management practices to mitigate adverse effects at source, in wastewater treatment, or at the site. The contractor will provide evidence to Natural England, the Pharmaceuticals in the Environment Group, and the DEFRA Biodiversity Pressures Team. The contract is below threshold and open competition.
