NIST seeks sources for a reflective LCoS spatial light modulator for quantum optics.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking sources for a spatial light modulator (SLM) to be used in quantum optics and atomic physics experiments. The SLM must be a reflective liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS) device with at least 1920x1080 resolution, 8-bit or higher grayscale, and a pixel pitch of 8 microns or less. It must operate in the near-infrared range (780-1064 nm) with a diffraction efficiency of at least 60% and a fill factor of at least 90%. The device should support standard video interfaces (HDMI or DisplayPort) and include software for pattern generation. This is a sources sought notice for market research only; no contract will be awarded from this notice. Interested vendors must submit capability statements by the response date.
