Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council is conducting preliminary market engagement for waste infrastructure modifications at its Silent Valley Waste Transfer Station. The project aims to prepare for Welsh legislative requirements mandating separate collection of flexible plastics by April 2027. Key deliverables include assessing the feasibility of converting the existing Godswill baler from left-hand to right-hand discharge, identifying structural/electrical/hydraulic constraints, and providing cost estimates. The Council also seeks supply and installation of an additional dedicated cardboard baler to increase processing capacity. Suppliers with experience in waste baling equipment and infrastructure modifications are invited to provide input.
