Network Rail Infrastructure Limited, through its division GBRX, is establishing a Utilities Dynamic Market (UDM) for rail innovation and technology. The UDM, provided via the X platform, offers a compliant, transparent, and continuously open route to market for suppliers to participate in innovation, R&D, trials, pilots, and scalable deployment. It is available to Network Rail, GBRX, the Department for Transport, DfT Operator Limited, and other Network Rail group entities. Suppliers must meet proportionate Conditions of Membership to join and compete for future tenders against defined problem statements. Scope includes data integration, AI, computer vision, train-borne asset management, network modelling, train control, energy management, and more. The UDM aims to reduce barriers for SMEs, VCSEs, new entrants, and established partners.
