Fisheries and Oceans Canada seeks hatchery services for Chinook salmon project.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada intends to award a contract for the Kitsumkalum River Chinook Salmon Project, which involves hatchery operations, fish production, assessment, and reporting. The contractor will manage the Deep Creek Hatchery, produce Chinook salmon fry and yearlings with coded wire tags, and assess returning salmon to estimate hatchery and wild components. The project supports international exploitation rate modeling for the Pacific Salmon Commission and domestic stock assessment. Interested suppliers must demonstrate at least five years of experience in fishery hatchery project management, hatchery operations under Pacific Aquaculture Regulations, field program delivery, fish production and tagging, and data collection. This is an Advance Contract Award Notice (ACAN) allowing other suppliers to submit statements of capabilities.
