USGS seeks sources for high-precision U-Pb zircon geochronology services.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is seeking sources for geochronology services, specifically high-precision U-Pb zircon geochronology by isotope dilution thermal ionization mass spectrometry (ID-TIMS). The contractor must provide sample preparation, mineral separation, chemical dissolution, and mass spectrometry analysis. The work supports USGS research on geologic mapping, resource assessments, and hazard studies. Interested parties must demonstrate capability to perform all aspects of the analysis, including sample preparation and data interpretation. The contract is expected to be a single-award, firm-fixed-price purchase order with a base year and four option years.
